Pauly’s birth name is Paul Montgomery Shore. He is an American born on February 1, 1968, in Los Angeles, California. Pauly is the son of Mitzi Shore and Sammy. His father was a comedian and the couple opened The Comedy Store in 1972. However, his parents separated in 1974 and his mother took sole ownership of the store.
Shore was brought up alongside his three siblings, Peter, Sandi, and Scott. He was raised in a Jewish household. Regarding his educational background, Shore attended Beverly Hills High School where he graduated in 1986.
He then spent much of his youth time around comedians and this inspired him to create a career in the comedy sector.

Pauly started his career at a young age. He performed his first stand-up set at the age of 17. By this time, his mentor was Sam Kinison and would often allow Shore to serve as his opening act severally.
Pauly was in the industry for a few years before he got his breakthrough. He got his big break in 1989 and this came after he landed a job as an MTV VJ. He held the position until 1994 and he hosted “MTV Spring Break.” He also appeared on the “MTV Video Music Awards.”
With his increasing success, MTV then gave him his show, “Totally Pauly” in 1990. He ran the show for six years. Pauly then released his first comedy album, “The Future of America,” in 1991. At the same period, he made a music video for the “Lisa, Lisa, the One I Adore.”
