Elliot also got a starring role in the television series “Mission: Impossible” in 1970. In 1975, he got a lead role in the television film, “I Will Fight No More Forever.”

By 1977, Sam Elliot was getting more dominant roles and was in the limelight than during his initial days. For instance, he played Tom Keating in the miniseries “Aspen.” He also played alongside Tom Selleck in the 1979 “The Sacketts.”
