George Patton V is the oldest son of the late George Patton IV, who was a major general in the United States Army. His Father
After completing his high school education, George the Fifth’s father joined West Point, graduating four years later as an infantry officer. At the time of his graduation, his first assignment was to Germany, where he served as a platoon leader.
George Patton IV served in the Korean War; it was in Korea that he received his first Silver Star. After his return to the United States, he was appointed a captain and was assigned to teach at the Naval Academy. In the 1960s, George Patton V’s father participated in the Vietnam War; he went on three tours. In his first tour, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel. 
During the Vietnam War, George and his battalion used helicopters, and they would shoot down. He received his second Silver Star in this war. After the war, he was also promoted to brigadier general; he continued rising the ranks, and by 1975 he had become a major general. It was the same unit that his father had commanded just before the start of the Second World War. It was an honor, and it was the first time that a father and his son had commanded the same unit.

George Patton V’s father received several awards and decorations while he served in the army. He received two badges, several medals, and both national and foreign awards for the role he played in the Vietnam and Korean wars. He is one of the most decorated generals in American history, and he helped the Patton family name stay afloat.
His Father’s Death
George Patton V’s father had a normal life; he returned to his farm, which he renamed Green Meadows farm. He also went on interviews and spoke of his years in the army. He had a great life, and he died in 2004 at the age of 80 due to Parkinson’s disease.
