Who was Darrell Kenyatta Evers?

Darrell Kenyatta Evers was a famous personality who died in 2001 after a long battle with colon cancer. Darrell did not come into the limelight for entirely his actions, but partly because of his father’s influence as a political activist.

Darrell was named Kenyatta in memory of Kenya’s first president, and he continued to use the name, even after it was changed. Darrell has continued to be remembered because of his parents’ great contributions towards freedom in the United States.

Darrell witnessed the cold-blooded murder of his father when he was nine years old, and that event continued to affect him all his life. Having to see his father every evening was a blessing because he traveled a lot, and having to witness him lying in a pool of blood affected him badly.

While everyone expected Darrel to take after his father’s career, that was not what he thought. The tragic events changed him forever, and while his mother continued with her husband’s fights, he chose a different career.
