Mathilda Ereni Gianopoulos is an American actress and the daughter of Molly Ringwald, an American actress known for her roles in The Facts of Life and Diff’rent Strokes. Her father is Panio Gianopoulos, and she has two siblings: a sister named Adele Georgiana Gianopoulos and a brother named Roman.
Early Life and Education
Mathilda Ereni was born on October 22, 2003, in the United States. In an interview, Molly Ringwald mentioned that Mathilda was conceived in a dressing room at Studio 54. When she realized that she was pregnant, she was happy and scared at the same time. She was scared at the thought of having to care for a delicate, small being. However, she was also happy that she was becoming a mother for the first time.
According to Greek culture, the first child is supposed to be named after the father’s parents. This was not an easy thing for Molly, and she had already brainstormed on the many names she wanted to give her child. However, she compromised and settled for Ereni, her mother-in-law’s name.
Mathilda has always had a mind of her own; even from a young age, she has always been headstrong. She always goes for what she wants and the things she wants to do.
Regarding her education, Mathilda’s parents were not so open about which schools she attended. However, given her parent’s financial standing, she must have attended the best schools, from elementary school to college.
Career
From a young age, Mathilda always showed an interest in fashion, and she loved the idea of her modeling someday. Luckily, her parents spotted her passion and were ready to support her. At the age of 17, Mathilda had already begun her modeling career. She began her modeling campaign with J. Crew, and in 2020, she was part of the New York Fashion Show.
Mathilda never had the intention of following in her mother’s footsteps and becoming an actress. However, after they bought a TV, she began to show interest in acting. She made her debut in the film The Idea of You, starring alongside Nicholas Galitzine and Anne Hathaway.
