He was the first African American NWA World Heavyweight Champion, NWA World Tag Team Champion twice and won the TNA World Tag Team Champion once.
Ronnie started out as a rapper but after two years he decided to try wrestling. He reached out to Jackie Crocket of National Wrestling Alliance who introduced him to the wrestling world and he started working in the Pro Wrestling Federation as a manager in 1997 training and moving around with Manny Fernandez to 2000. He joined NWA Wildside in 1999 and was awarded NWA Wildside Television Championship.
Ronnie was contracted by World Wrestling Federation from 1998 to 2002 and formed a team with Road Dogg and they won the WWF Hardcore Championship two times. He joined Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) in 2002 as Ron Truth and won NWA World Heavyweight Championship two times. He joined Adam Jones a football player and won the TNA World Tag Team Championship and in 2007, he left TNA. He joined the WWE in 2008 and won the WWE Tag Team Championship for several years and WWE United Stares Championship. By 2011, he was the number one contender for the WWE Championship together with John Cena.
In 2019, he won the WWE 24/7 championship and united states championship for the second time. He won the Raw Tag Team Championship at the WrestleMania XL in a six-pack ladder match. Ronnie had 53 reigns and longest combined reign at 425 days in the WWE 24/7 Championship. In 2022 he got an injury while in a match against Grayson Waller while making guest appearances on NXT episodes. The injury was severe but he made a comeback in November 2023 at Wargames Survivor Series.
