Nicholas Albert Roker is the son of Al Rocker, a popular weather anchor on ‘Today’ and journalist Deborah Roberts. He is a promising athlete within the Special Olympics community. He has a sister called Leila and a step-sister Cortney. Nicholas and his father Rocker share a special bond. He is popularly known as Nick and his parents keep him out of the spotlight. He competed in the organization’s New York summer games at Vassar College swim team.

He earned two gold medals in the 25-yard butterfly and 50-yard freestyle competition.

Nicholas’s mother, Deborah, mentioned that his son is also interested in martial arts and marathons. His father Rocker during an interview with Guideposts Magazine shared that Nicholas is autistic and has an obsessive-compulsive disorder but the family has been so supportive of him. Albert Lincoln Rocker Jr. was born on August 20 1954 in Queens, New York. He is an American journalist, weather presenter, television personality, and author. He works at NBC Today, as a weather anchor and hosts 3rd Hour Today. He holds a record for appearing on Late Night with Conan O Brien mostly as a last-minute replacement. During President Obama’s inauguration, he had the first interview waving his fedora hat and asking the president to join him.

In 2022, Rocker was featured on Please Don’t Destroy on SNL in season 47 along with actor Paul Rudd and Ben Marshall. Rockers’ signature phrase on Today is ‘man candy’ referring to attractive males. When transitioning from weather podcast to local affiliate he often says ‘That’s what’s going on around the country, here’s what’s happening in your neck of the woods’. In 2007, he became an official member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities and Celebrity Board. He was the spokesperson in 2008 Amtrak’s National Train Day.

He wrote and published his book ‘Never Goin’ Back; Winning the Weight Loss Battle for Good’ in 2013 talking about his weight loss journey. Al Rocker is a prostate cancer survivor as he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2020 and had a successful operation. He’s been treated for lung blood clots as he suffered internal bleeding from bleeding ulcers and colon and gallbladder removal surgery. He had undergone a knee arthroplasty on his left knee and gastric bypass surgery in 2002 and lost 45kg from 150kg.

Roker has had other surgeries including a hip replacement, emergency carpal tunnel, and knee replacement surgery. He has been married twice and had one child, Courtney, with his former wife Alice Bell and two, Leila and Nicholas, from his current wife Deborah Roberts. He married WNBC producer Alice Bell in 1984 and adopted Courtney a year later unfortunately they divorced. In 1995, he married journalist Deborah Roberts and had two children.
