The late Margarete Boden was born on September 9, 1893. She was born in Goncarzewo near Bromberg. She was the daughter of landowners Hans Boden and Elfriede. Margarete grew up alongside her three sisters Elfriede, Lydia, and Paula. She also had a brother.

Taking about Margarete’s educational background she attended Hohere Tochterschule, a High School for Girls. The school was located in Bromberg. Later on, she trained and worked as a nurse, especially during the World War I.

She then became a stint at a German Red Cross hospital and this was during the end of the war. Her father offered her economic support and this allowed her to operate and direct a private nursing clinic in Berlin.Margarete-Boden

Margarete Boden’s Marriage Life

Margarete and Himmler met in 1927. The two met during on of Himmler’s lecture tours. From there, they shared letters. In one letter, Himmler described Margarete as the “Landsknecht with the hard heart.”

Their friendship opened up for love and Margarete loved Himmler’s romantic style of writing and affection towards her. Himmler was a junior to Margarete with seven years and they both shared an interest in herbal medicine and homeopathy. Besides, they had many things in common, including the long for strict efficiency and the preference for a parsimonious lifestyle.

Margarete got married to Himmler in July 1928. However, before that, Himmler was unsure with the idea of revealing her relationship with her to his parents. The reasons for this as because she was older to him with seven years, she was a divorcee, and because she was a protestant. In fact, none of Himmler’s family members attended the wedding. Nonetheless, his parents eventually accepted Margarete but kept their distance.

The couple welcomed their only child, Gudrun, on August 8, 1929. Margarete died on August 25, 1967. She died in Munich, West Germany.

Heinrich Luitpold Himmler was the husband to Margarete Boden. He was born on October 7, 1900. He then died due to suicide on May 23, 1945. Margarete’s husband was one of the most powerful men in Nazi Germany.

His power came from him being a leading member of the German Nazi Party. Besides, he was a German politician who was the 4th Reichsfuhrer of the Schutzstaffel. His main reputation was because he was one of the architects behind the Holocaust.
