Rob Zombie was born on January 12, 1965, in Haverhill, Massachusetts to Louise and Robert Cummings. As a child, Rob enjoyed watching horror movies and always looked up to art musicians like Stan Lee, Alice Cooper, and Bela Lugosi.
His brother Michael David Cummings, known as Spider One, is the lead singer of the rock group Power Man 5000. He joined Haverhill High School graduating in 1983 and moved to New York City to attend Parsons School of Design. While at Parsons, he met his wife Sean Yseult and they formed the band white zombie. Unfortunately, they broke up but still worked together. He married Sheri Moon Zombie in 2002. Rob and his wife are vegans due to his compassion for animals.

Rob gets inspiration for his music and films from horror and suspense films, especially from the 70s. His music video Never Gonna Stop is inspired by the film A Clockwork Orange released in 1971, and the film The Lords of Salem, is inspired by a horror film The Shinning from 1980.
The band’s name white zombie came from a 1932 horror film white zombie, and his name Rob Zombie comes from God of Thunder. He changed his name legally from Robert Bartleh Cummings to Rob Zombie in 1996.
After watching animals being slaughtered, he became a vegan and used his home to rescue farm animals.
